Dennis
W. Hoppe (Principal) Biography
Dennis
W. Hoppe. Principal, has been working his entire business career
in the middle to small business environment. Working for others
in the traditional business world in his early career, he was often
challenged to correct specific issues and problems within the parent
company, or often, with branches, subsidiaries, acquisitions, and
divestitures. The rewards of these challenges and the successes
that followed, led to the passion for a transition to a full-time,
independent small-business advisor, management consultant, and change
agent. The last 11 years have been spent as a change agent, implementing
change management in a wide-variety of business environments, including
family businesses and closely held companies; working exclusively
with business owners and principals. Working as a business advisor,
management consultant, and confidant to over 200 small business
owners, Mr. Hoppe has initiated and implemented successful changes
in a number of areas. Prior and current clients can better describe
how CMI has assisted them (see services
offered, testimonials/references
by small business owners, testimonials/references
by owners/managers/executives.)
Moving from
crisis management and turnaround management, to assisting stagnant
companies back to a fast growth track, to moving very successful
companies to even higher levels that they strive for, but can not
reach, or do not have the time to reach without a change manager,
to a personal favorite of family businesses, Mr. Hoppe has enjoyed
building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with many diverse
clients. CMI has worked with over 35 different types of businesses,
and found that the basic principles he espouses pertain to all,
and the major difference is how to implement the necessary changes
with such a variety of personalities and company cultures. Having
minored in psychology in college, and trained for this in the contemporary
business world, Mr. Hoppe thrives on, and has a passion for these
challenges.
He has learned
from each company and each person he has worked with how to better
help his next clients, learning what works best for most, and what
does not work, and need not be repeated.
Mr. Hoppe has
been described by Owners as being "street smart", "a
person with uncommon perseverance", "having a unique ability
to quickly implement realistic solutions", "people-oriented",
"a team-builder", "having bold approaches to problems",
"having the courage of telling owners 'as it really is'",
and "professional at all times".
Not to be confused
with a "financial manager" Mr. Hoppe works with all operational
and personality and cultural issues within a company that impact
profits, and more importantly, improved quality of life for owners
and employees.
He also understands
the very limited benefit to day-to-day operations that a CPA, Banker,
or Attorney can offer the company. They each serve a very important
function, but each have very specific issues that they are charged
with, totally unrelated to day-to-day business activities. The Owner
and their internal management team must guide this critical aspect
of company activities. The most effective source of help with day-to-day
activities is an outside, objective, business advisor (such as CMI)
to work hand-in-hand with this team to bring tried, true, and tested
ideas, concepts, and actions, and prevent long delays in getting
to the most effective courses of action, and implementing them in
a smooth, orderly, and timely fashion.
Change Management Implementation, Inc. is a long-term charter member of the Turnaround Management
Association, The International Association of Computer Professionals,
and other relevant organizations. Mr. Hoppe has had numerous articles
published locally, regionally, and nationally, and also has spoken
on various issues to a variety of business groups. He has been called
upon by larger national small business consulting firms to train
and facilitate their consultants, to improve their approaches to
helping owners, and to do it in a more cost-effective manner. He
has been referred to often as the "quintessential consultant".
Very few (if
any) small business advisors have the passion, the history of successes,
and the strong feeling of always putting the best interests of the
owner/client first.
